Was at mass at Church of Holy Spirit yesterday for Saturday Evening Mass and Fr. Andrew Wong gave the homily.
Been a long time since I last heard him.
His homily is simple, "Crab mentality" in a story form. Goes like this.
A woman went to the market to buy crabs for her family. After choosing the crabs, she put them into a basket. The stall operator then just left the basket on the counter and assisted her in getting other things.
The lady was worried that the crabs will climb out and escape when she saw the crabs climbing over one another.
The stall vendor, replied, "Don't worry. They won't be able to escape. When 1 crab gets above the other, the rest will pull him down."
That is Crab Mentality.
We, also do this very often don't we, often without realizing too. When someone tells us something that we ourselves do not do, will not do or simply dom't belive, we are also very skeptical and also more often than not, we put the other person down.
I don't know about you, but sometimes I'm guilty of that too.
I do not want to have this crab mentality and therefore, I shall try my best to not do this anymore.
